Where we’re at now
May 8, 2008
So the start of the year we were back home in NZ writing our debut album, and playing Falls fest new years eve at Tasmania, then on to the Big Day Out tour, which was rad as it was our first time on the whole tour…Alot of memorable moments were had on that tour, from there we went straight over to the UK for the first time with working visas, and straight into the first of a bunch of trips around the UK we’ve been doing in the past couple months. March was mostly filled up with the recording of our debut album, working with Bernard Butler (Suede, libertines, black keys, cribs, cajun dance party, black kids, cut off your hands etc) in Edwyn Collins pokey little studio in west london…it’s been a refreshing process, with the majority of the record being songs we’ve never played live or even together before..we’re pretty excited about how it’s sounding, we always thought it’d be far more of a 10 x 2minute power pop record for our debut, whereas these songs show a far more mature band, and i cant wait to finish it in a couple weeks…
anyway so since then we’ve been back on the road around UK with a band called Does it Offend you Yeah…and are about to go on tour next week with the legendary Edwyn Collins (orange juice, ‘never met a girl like you’)
